We're excited that you're considering Fig for your personal loan needs! Our application process is 100% online; no paperwork, no physical visits, and no unnecessary delays. Here’s how to prepare before you start your application.
What You'll Need
To apply, make sure you have the following:
- Online banking credentials (login info for your primary Canadian bank account)
- Canadian government-issued photo ID
- A mobile device with a camera and microphone
- A stable internet connection (we recommend the Google Chrome web browser for best results)
Linking Your Bank Account
Fig partners with Flinks, a trusted Canadian provider, to securely verify your banking details during the application.
Why we need this:
- To verify your identity and account ownership
- To review your account activity and confirm loan eligibility
- To deposit your loan funds if approved
- To set up automatic repayments from your account
Please use your main bank account if possible (the one where you receive your income or payroll deposits).
Submitting Photo ID
As part of identity verification, you'll need to submit one valid piece of Canadian government-issued photo ID. This is completed through our secure partner, Onfido, using your mobile device.
Accepted documents include:
- Canadian Passport
- Driver's Licence
- Provincial ID (excluding Health Card)
- Permanent Resident Card
You'll be prompted to:
- Take a photo of your ID (front and back, if required)
- Complete a short facial video using your phone's camera
This step helps confirm your identity and prevent fraud.
Tips for a Smooth Application
- Have your mobile phone ready and fully charged
- Ensure your camera and microphone are working
- Use a strong, stable internet connection
- Complete the application in Google Chrome if possible
- Have your ID and banking login details ready
